Practical Land Management, Rooted in Experience
Hayes Land Services was founded on a simple belief: good land management should be practical, science-based, and tailored to the landowner’s goals. Every property is different, and every landowner has a unique vision—whether that’s improving wildlife habitat, increasing hunting opportunities, restoring native ecosystems, or protecting a home and property from wildfire.
Our role is to help you make informed decisions and implement management strategies that produce measurable results, both in the short term and for generations to come.
We work with landowners across Oklahoma and surrounding states who want to better understand their property and manage it with purpose.
Built in Real-World Experience
Hayes Land Services is led by a land manager with a background in forestry, wildlife habitat management, and wildland fire. Our experience comes not just from textbooks, but from years spent working on the land—conducting prescribed burns, improving habitat, evaluating timber and vegetation, and helping landowners solve real problems.
That hands-on experience matters.
We understand how land responds to management because we’ve seen it firsthand. We know what works, what doesn’t, and how to design management plans that are realistic, cost-effective, and achievable.
Our approach combines:
Forestry and natural resource management education
Professional experience in prescribed fire and wildfire mitigation
Practical wildlife and habitat management knowledge
A lifelong connection to hunting and land stewardship
This combination allows us to bridge the gap between science and real-world application.
Our Philosophy
We believe successful land management is built on three core principles:
1. Work With Nature, Not Against It
Healthy land systems are resilient, productive, and sustainable. Instead of fighting natural processes, we use tools like prescribed fire, selective tree removal, and habitat management to restore balance and improve long-term outcomes.
2. Focus on Long-Term Results
Quick fixes rarely produce lasting improvements. Our recommendations are designed to build value in your property year after year—improving habitat quality, increasing wildlife carrying capacity, and protecting your land from future risks.
3. Keep It Practical
Management plans should be realistic and actionable. We prioritize strategies that landowners can actually implement, maintain, and afford.
Who We Work With
Hayes Land Services works with a wide range of landowners, including:
New property owners who want guidance on where to start
Families managing land that has been passed down for generations
Hunters and land managers focused on improving wildlife habitat
Rural homeowners concerned about wildfire risk
Landowners seeking long-term stewardship of their property
Whether your property is 20 acres or 2,000 acres, the goal is the same:
make the land healthier, more productive, and more enjoyable to own and manage.
What Makes Hayes Land Services Different
Many consulting services focus on theory. Others focus only on one aspect of land management.
We focus on the whole system.
Our recommendations are grounded in:
Field observation
Ecological principles
Practical experience
Local conditions
Your specific goals
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Every property receives a tailored approach based on its soils, vegetation, wildlife, terrain, and management history.
Let’s Talk About Your Property
The first step toward better land management is understanding what you have—and what it can become.
Whether you’re looking for guidance, a full management plan, or a second opinion, Hayes Land Services is here to help.
